The CVLUG
This is the home page for the Linux Users' Group of the Coachella Valley area in Southern California (Palm Springs, Indio, and other Desert Cities). But really, if you're near enough that you want to join us, feel free to do so. And of course, you can email the list from anywhere, so don't hesitate to contact us!
We are a small group of users growing slowly, while we do not meet regularly, we can arrange to meet or facilitate projects.
There is a mailing list, but for now, you can contact David G (take off the "," in address) or Mark H to find out what's happening in the valley.
If you would like some help with your computer, or if you need help with a project (free software or hardware), you can contact one of us.
We use different flavors of GNU/Linux.
David uses Ubuntu Studio on one machine and Mint on another machine.
Ubuntu Studio is used to produce music using Jack, Hydrogen, Ardour and a few other applications, and to make videos using Cinelerra and Kino.
He also uses Scilab to run mathematical computations.
Mark is using Trisquel.
Others use one or more of the listed distributions below.
